Hello, I’m Imogen - founder, designer, maker, and everything-in-betweener at Scorpio Rising.
From sketching designs and handcrafting each item to answering your messages and lovingly packaging every order, Scorpio Rising is truly a one-woman show. Every piece you receive has passed through my hands with care, intention, and a little bit of magic.
My journey began as a teenager selling vintage clothing, and in 2009 I launched my first business, Velvet Cave. Over time, as I grew more drawn to creating my own designs, that project naturally evolved into Scorpio Rising. I was lucky early on to have the help of two incredible women - my Nan, who worked in clothing factories, and my Grandma, a theatre costume designer. Their creativity and skills helped lay the foundation for what I do today, and their influence continues to inspire my work.
Being petite, I’ve always struggled to find clothes that truly fit, so Scorpio Rising was born out of a desire to create customisable, made-to-measure pieces that actually work for real bodies - no compromises. In a world that moves fast, I’m passionate about slow fashion: creating beautiful, lasting designs in a thoughtful, sustainable way. Wherever possible, I use recycled and recyclable packaging and materials to reduce environmental impact.
In addition to handmade clothing, I also curate collections of rare vintage pieces, many pulled straight from my personal wardrobe, that have influenced our in-house designs. And to finish the look, you’ll find a growing range of magical, customisable chokers to match your mood.
The brand is deeply influenced by my love of vintage horror films, music, and fashion - our name is even taken from a 1960s cult classic. (And yes, I really am a Scorpio Rising - Cancer Sun, Capricorn Moon if you’re wondering.) Scorpio Rising is for anyone drawn to the powerful, mysterious, and unapologetically bold energy of the sign.
